About AMSGMC

Bringing together 100 singers and dancers, the Amsterdam Gay Men’s Chorus is the largest gay men’s chorus in the Netherlands.

The chorus started in 2015 and has always aimed to create a safe, friendly and accepting environment for gay men who love to sing and dance. Our repertoire is fresh and fun, including everything from Adele to Mozart, the Eurythmics, Beyoncé and Elton John.

We’re a very international chorus, using English in our rehearsals and proudly home to men from more than 30 countries who call Amsterdam their home. We welcome new members at various times during the year, and perform in a variety of venues and settings in Amsterdam and beyond.

Our mission

The Amsterdam Gay Men's Chorus promotes diversity in the performing arts, and believes that music and dance have the ability to inspire and uplift people.

We want to provide a safe and welcoming environment to gay men from Amsterdam and the surrounding area who share our values and want to improve their singing and dance skills.

We are an active and engaged partner to the City of Amsterdam and its LGBTQ+ community. We want to use our platform to challenge stereotypes and open our audiences’ eyes to the diversity of gay men in Amsterdam.

Join the chorus

The chorus welcomes new members each year. Have you moved to Amsterdam and want to meet new people and experience the uplifting experience of performing in a chorus?

Once per year, we hold open rehearsals so that you can try out singing or dancing with us, and then follow our joining process. Nervous? Don't be! We look forward to welcoming you.
