Roles and Responsibilities

The Board
Made up from members of the chorus, the Board provides strategic governance, financial oversight, and organisational leadership to ensure the chorus’s long-term sustainability and fulfilment of its mission.
The Artistic Team
The Artistic Team shapes the creative vision of the chorus through repertoire selection and show planning, ensuring artistic excellence and a cohesive musical experience. The team includes both members of the chorus and the show and music directors. More detailed information on the team is available here.

Paid Positions
To help the chorus achieve its goals, several positions are paid and filled by external parties:

Show Director
Oversees all production elements from staging and logistics on the summer and winter shows to ensure smooth, polished performances that reflect the choir’s artistic vision.

Music Director
Rehearses the singers and conducts them during performances. Also responsible for procuring vocal and band arrangements for our songs.

Pianist and Band
Our pianist and small band deliver high-quality musical accompaniment that supports singers in rehearsals (piano only) and performances, enhancing the choir’s overall sound and professionalism. The band only joins for the summer and winter performance and can change according to the requirements of each show.
Member Sections
Our 80+ singers are organised into 6 voice groups, with the dancers forming a single group. This helps to create focused practice, blend development, strengthen ensemble cohesion and vocal balance.

Section Leaders
For each of the sections (singers and dancers) a section leader guides and supports their voice groups both musically and administratively, improving communication, accuracy, and confidence within each section.

The Nexus
Within both the singers and the dancers, a select group of members perform additional advanced repertoire in the our shows. Anyone from the Chorus can apply to be a part of the Nexus groups via an audition, usually held once a year.
Volunteers
Members also help on a voluntary basis with activities such as show sponsorship, travel and lodging arrangements, set and costume design, song arrangements, social media assistance, playing in the band, etc.
